• Receive a newsletter twice a year with information about events, lectures and exhibitions, as well as articles on local history.

• Be invited to social and fundraising events during the year.

• Help us run and develop the Museum, as well as buying new items for display.

The Museum is dependent upon the large number of volunteers who give so generously of their time and skills in order to keep the Museum open.

What's involved in volunteering at Godalming Museum? As a volunteer at the Museum, you would spend a morning or an afternoon:

• Welcoming visitors

• Serving refreshments in the café

• Processing sales in the gift shop

• Providing local information

• Offering information about the galleries and displays.

• Occasionally we have other volunteer opportunities, such as education support, marketing, or gardening.

Do contact us if you have a particular skill you would like to use for the benefit of the Museum. We are particularly keen to hear from people who are willing to help us on Sundays and weekday afternoons.

Godalming Museum can only open each day because of the active commitment of the community. It depends on the volunteers who staff the Museum, on the Friends and business sponsors who support it and on the visitors who give donations.

Godalming Town Council provides a Curator and Museum Support Manager for the Museum but every penny of the running costs is raised by an independent charitable trust, Godalming Museum Trust (Registered Charity No 292155). The Trust needs to raise £100 a day just to keep the Museum open.

You can donate to the Museum in several ways:

• Using cash - in one of our donation boxes at the Museum.

• By cheque - send a cheque made out to Godalming Museum Trust to the Museum.

• By card - you can make a donation by contactless card payment in our gift shop.

• You may wish to consider leaving the Museum a legacy in your will.

Corporate sponsors packages include:

• Free monthly newsletter
• Recognition of support in our widely distributed newsletter and website
• A tour of the museum with our curator for up to 12 people
• An invitation to all Museum networking events and private views
• Use of the museum for a corporate event (a modest contribution may apply depending on size of the event and requirements).
